Murmurhouse · Guide
Turn a Zoom, Teams or Meet recording into text, privately
Meeting recordings often contain things that shouldn’t go to another company’s servers: client details, salaries, health or legal topics. Murmurhouse writes them out on your own computer instead.
Find the recording
- Zoom (local recording): Documents → Zoom → the meeting folder. Use the .m4a audio file (smaller) or the .mp4.
- Microsoft Teams: open the recording in OneDrive or SharePoint → Download.
- Google Meet: the recording is saved in Google Drive → Meet Recordings → Download.
Transcribe it
- Open Murmurhouse and drop the file in.
- Choose Balanced quality for meetings, and set the language if people mix languages.
- Keep the tab open. An hour of audio can take a while on a laptop; plug it in.
- Fix names, then download TXT for notes or SRT to add captions to the video.
Good to know
- Murmurhouse doesn’t label who is speaking yet. Timestamps help you follow the conversation.
- Tell participants you record and transcribe meetings; in many countries you must.
